Michele Szarek is a freelance show writer for themed entertainment. She enjoys developing inventive concepts and writing compelling scripts while partnering with clients to achieve their project goals– and looking at unique ways to make attractions inclusive and accessible to all. Michele blends twenty plus years of experience in entertainment production and project management together with her passion for storytelling for immersive experiences to understand her clients’ needs. While she dreams up ideas for those she works with, she draws from an innate desire to inspire kids and kids at heart to conjure up big dreams themselves— just like others inspired her to do so through the impact of their work!

Before show writing, Michele built her career in the animation industry for over twenty years driven by, and showcasing a passion for creating and delivering impactful stories and dynamic visual content to audiences around the world. She takes this same drive with her to show writing. In prior roles and at prior companies, Michele led teams and mentorship communities, centering her leadership style around listening and understanding, moving projects efficiently forward with knowledge and expertise. 

Michele’s experience in entertainment and other prior industries (including Sales, Marketing, Start-ups, and the Pharmaceutical Industry) enables her to be a proactive, flexible, adaptable, and results-driven writer. In addition to sharing her skills with clients, Michele enjoys being a mentor to those in the animation and themed entertainment industries, and being an active participant with communities at Boston University, Boston College, Women In Animation, and the Themed Entertainment Association.
